Dear Sugar Grove Family,
We live in challenging times. As you already know, the majority of public gatherings in
the nation are being cancelled due to concern over the spread of novel coronavirus, Covid19.
This virus is harmful mostly to seniors and those with underlying health problems. Leading
physicians in the field of infectious disease have cautioned us that people with the virus can be
contagious for weeks prior to exhibiting symptoms. Many more cases likely exist than have been
This morning, our Board of Administration made a difficult decision. This decision was
made in consultation with our Conference Superintendent, and in line with instructions from the
Free Methodist Board of Bishops. Also taken into account were guidelines from the local
Department of Health, and the Governor of Indiana. We have decided, therefore, out of an
abundance of caution, to cancel all meetings and services at Sugar Grove through March
31 st , or such time as we feel the Covid19 threat is behind us.
As your pastor, I have a deep sense of love and abiding affection for each one of you. I
would never want anything to happen to one of our dear saints- especially if it is preventable.
The best prevention method here is to stay home until this subsides. I hope I am wrong and that
this whole thing blows over without incident. I hope for that so much.
I will see to it that we are checking in on all of you from time to time, just to see how you
are doing. Do not hesitate to contact me should a need arise. Feel free to call my office at (812)
232-3166, my home at (812) 235-0765, or my direct cell number at (760) 987-6066. In times like
these, we look out for others, and we let others look out for us.
On Sunday mornings, I will deliver my sermon on Facebook live at 10:30 am. If you
haven’t already done so, please go to our church Facebook page and like/follow. On Sunday
morning, you will be able to watch the message on that platform. You may also join me on
Wednesdays at 1:00 pm for a Bible study.
Please remember that all of our church’s bills will continue to come due during this
season. In light of that fact, it is requested that tithes and offerings be mailed to:

Finally, one thing we must never forget- God is still on the throne! We are not a people
ruled by panic or fear, but by a God who loves and is in charge! Psalm 91:1-2 tells us, “Whoever
dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the
Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” Let’s all hang out under his
shadow during these uncertain and challenging days. Our God is faithful.
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Andy
