What We Believe

We are Orthodox, Evangelical, Christians.

We base our life and beliefs on scripture, guided by our tradition and two thousand years of Church history, and we strive to make that history relevant in our contemporary world and experience.

We believe the Bible has authority over all human life. It teaches the truth about God, His creation, His people, His one and only Son, and the destiny of humankind.

We believe this truth is summarized in the ancient and Universal Creeds of the Church. We therefore hold to the Nicene and Apostles Creed as our confession of faith.

We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in God our Father, creator of heaven and earth; in Jesus Christ the Son of God who for our salvation became fully human, died for our sins and rose again so that we can have life in Him; and in the Holy Spirit of God who guides us into the truth and empowers Christian living. Furthermore, we believe in the future Christ will return, all people will be resurrected, and God will call us to give an account of all we have done and all He has given us.

We call people to become followers of Jesus. We believe that followers of Jesus do what Jesus did.
